She was sick and malnourished and because of being in such bad shape, ended up needing a blood transfusion after her surgery and had to stay at the vet for three days. Because of neglect, she also has spindle tumors all over. We can't even imagine the kind of pain she must have been in.

She is an English bulldog who was overbred until her ovary swelled up to the size of an orange (it should have been the size of a grape!). Poor Avery was rescued just in time from a HORRENDOUS situation in a puppy mill. They have asked for dogs lovers everywhere to donate to Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue in his name so we can save others like him who just needed a second chance at life. They are so grateful to Ace of Hearts from saving him from the shelter and allowing them to give him the perfect forever home. But devastated doesnt begin to describe how his family is feeling. His family wanted him to live and die with dignity and love and he did just that. He was healthy inside but his body just couldnt keep up. He passed under his favorite jacaranda tree with his adopters at his side, holding his paw and head after a day at the beach with his family. He lived the very best life he possibly could and was a happy dog until his very last breath. After 15 years of love, joy, and happiness, he left this world. Hudson was as perfect as a rescue dog could be. In Hudson's Name: Donate Now And Save A Life Our goal is to rescue more at-risk senior dogs from high-kill shelters who will in turn provide unconditional love and companionship to a senior who otherwise would not have had the means to adopt a dog.

All dogs are vetted, current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and we'll even include a month's supply of food. We understand that senior citizens often live on a tight budget so we're waiving 50% of the adoption fee for all seniors 8 years and older to senior humans who are 65 and older. We believe that seniors deserve to live out their golden years in loving homes, not die alone a shelter. IMPORTANT - because our schedule is subject to change, please email us if you have any questions, and we can fax you the current schedule and info.Īs an advocate for the underdog, Ace of Hearts largely focuses on seniors who are often ignored because of their age and medical concerns. Our pet adoption program adopts out approximately 1,800 dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens each year! We could not do this without your generous donations and volunteer efforts.Thank you for your continued support of the animals at the Milo Foundation. We do show dogs on the weekends that we are not at Petco, after the interested party has filled out the online application (by appointment only). We offer sanctuary to those pets who are not ready for adoption and educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, including spay/neuter. We rescue dogs and cats from high-kill animal shelters and adopt them to loving homes best suited to provide lifetime care. The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization providing a second chance for homeless pets throughout California. Our goal is to assist you in meeting the animals and hopefully leaving with one! So many need homes! Thank you for wanting to adopt a Milo Dog or Milo Cat! If you cannot no problem, you will be able to complete an application on site. If you are interested in adopting, it is helpful for you to please start by completing a pet adoption application before you visit, and if you can print it and bring it with you, that will further facilitate the process. Please stop by during open hours, 11am to 5pm every day (except Tuesday when we are closed), sign in and we will introduce you to animals of interest, and give you a walk through if you would like to see more. Welcome! Visitors are welcome to the Milo Point Richmond Adoption Center, NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!
